How to Start your own Craft Club

Starting a craft club has been one of the best things I have ever done. It is a great  excuse to spend quality time with your friends and to try new crafts every month.

As always there are a few issues you may be having that you feel prevent you from starting a craft club. You may think ''none of my friends are crafty'', ''I don't have a craft room'', or ''everyone I know is so busy''. Even though all my friends stated that they weren't crafty everyone still always has a great end product. (of course this also depends on the craft and your instructions)

As for not having a designated room, all you need is a table, chairs, and craft supplies for any room to be a ''craft room''. The excuse that everyone you know is so busy is also false. Just talk to your friends and decide on a day and time that most of you are not busy on. (I do Sundays from 4-6).

Now, if you have decided to start a craft club all you need are some basic guidelines for choosing the right craft .
To choose the right craft you need to consider are a few variables.
  • the season/holidays
  • the time to make this craft (if the craft you are looking into has a 24 hour dry time or only takes about 5 minutes to complete this probably isn't the right one)
  • the price (all my craft clubs cost $10 per person and I make sure that all the materials per person are about this much)
  • the category (talk to your club members and decide together what category of crafts are best for you, such as doing mostly home decor, or focusing on spa products such as bath bombs and soaps)
  • the difficulty level (keep all your crafts moderately easy, in a large group it is hard to focus on certain people who may may need more help than others)

These are some great crafts that have worked amazing in the craft club:
